Hotel Lobby Improvements

Waikiki Malia Hotel by Outrigger is locally owned and operated. OMIZU Architecture was tasked with completing a full interior lobby renovation to drastically improve the arrival experience for hotel guests. The dated check-in lobby was transformed into a vibrant and modern entrance point. The challenge was to design within a very small existing lobby space. Choke points, dead-space, queuing and paths to elevator lobby circulation made the project challenging. This was the first full renovation of the hotel Lobby in over 30 years, Omizu Architecture was able to work within a budget, gain Waikiki Special District approval, and achieve a successful improvement that will greet the hotels guests upon arrival. Floors, vaulted ceilings, lighting, HVAC / Electrical infrastructure, and staff areas behind the check-in counters have all been improved to usher in a new era for the locally owned Waikiki Malia.
