Stacked Simplicity

Commissioned to design alongside craftsman / builders at Pai‘ea Millwrights, the team developed solutions with simplicity by crafting within the parameters of the original Ossipov influenced hillside home.  Clean lines, robust + rhythmic structural members, and a vocabulary still relevant with features of the existing home was paramount. The extremely compromised existing exterior decks were virtually unusable. Redesigned and replaced with updated / simplified framing, contemporary railing system, new deck planks, upgraded ceiling treatment, and accent lighting all to enhance the incredible Honolulu view while enjoying the outdoors beneath generous eaves.
