A young family, a new home, and the desire to live + love the backyard. Once a rocky, un-level, and poorly maintained exterior, the home’s backyard has now been transformed in to the useable outdoor space for gatherings, gardening, and enjoyment. Tasked to design a deck that would be safe, low-maintenance, and large enough to entertain on, the design took shape by maximizing framing and borders based on the geometry of the lot. The home’s uniquely sized composite deck with built-in continuous seating is a simple and wonderful addition to the scent of fresh cut grass.
