The State’s Division of Forestry and Wildlife manages State lands across the Hawaiian islands. Conscious efforts towards conservation of natural resources triggers the need for bird rest stations in remote and arid areas. Lack of water, little sheltered rest areas, and feral animals to contend with, native and game birds have a difficult existence. Self-sustaining bird water units are erected by the DLNR to allow our island bird species to flourish better under harsh conditions. Systematically designed and consolidated into a single package, bird water units can more readily be constructed in-house or easily bid out in a consolidated / quantifiable manner.
